Nanzhao, located in the southwest of Henan Province, the southern foot of Funiu Mountain and the northern margin of Nanyang Basin, is known as “north strangle Ru Luo, south control Jingxiang”. It is a must for soldiers in all dynasties. Even so, as a county under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City, Henan Province, the economy of Nanzhao County is dominated by agriculture, but the development has been relatively depressed, many places are in an undeveloped state surrounded by mountains, is one of the state-level poor counties in Henan Province.
This trip to Henan, I had the opportunity to come to Nanzhao. Nanzhao natural scenery, profound cultural heritage, with five mountains, Zhenwuding, Nanzhao Baotianman, Baihe first floating, ape man Grand Canyon, Danxia Temple, Yahekou Reservoir, Lianhua Hot Spring Water City and other famous scenic spots. In addition, Nanzhao’s agricultural tourism resources are also quite characteristic.
It is located on the “Qinling-Huaihe River” line of the important Shenzhen to Shanghai flights geographical boundary line of China, and is located at the junction of the wet zone and the semi-humid zone (the transition zone between the north and the south), and belongs to the northern subtropical monsoon type continental climate, and has the obvious characteristics of the transition of the subtropical to the warm temperate zone. So we can grow both the northern apple and the orange in the south.
When it comes to Nanzhao agricultural tourism and sightseeing, the most characteristic is the tussah breeding industry here. Tussah silkworm, ancient known as spring silkworm, oak silkworm, Bombyx mori and so on, because it likes to eat tussah leaves named, like silkworm, it is also a silk-spinning insect, tussah calluses can reeling, is one of the main raw materials for textile. Not only that, tussah silkworm is also edible, but also can be used as medicinal materials, is a unique insect resources with important economic value in China.
Tussah silkworm originated in the south-central Shandong Province of China. Now the main producing areas are Liaoning, Shandong, Henan, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and other provinces. According to statistics, the annual output of tussah calluses reached 70000 tons. This is the first time I have seen tussah. At first, I thought it was a caterpillar, because unlike the white silkworm, tussah is colorful, thick, and has some hair on my body. At first glance, it looks very similar to the caterpillar.
In that south of the demonstration base of a chemical silkworm experiment, I watch and understand the culture condition of the silkworm. Until then, I don’t know anything about it, and I’m sure many of my friends are the same as me. So, travel is not only an eye-opener, but also knowledge. The larva of the silkworm is composed of the head, the chest and the abdomen, and the body is of a long, long-barrel shape. It is composed of 13 individual sections, of which the chest is 3 individual sections and the abdomen is 10.
The silkworm is also a completely abnormal insect. Like the silkworm, in Shenzhen flights the 28 days of its life, four forms of the egg, the larva (silkworm), the pupae and the adult (moth) are to be experienced, but unlike the silkworm, the silkworm is rich in color, mainly yellow, orange, green, blue, and the like. But the cocoon is just as white as it is.
Interestingly, unlike silkworm, tussah is mostly scattered in tussah forests on hillsides. At the tussah breeding base, I saw tussah leaves covered in a variety of colors, tussah growing freely in tussah trees, complete the four parts of life. But the loose tussah silkworm has many natural enemies, among which birds are the biggest threat. In addition to using the net to surround the tussah forest, the base workers will fire artillery in the woods to drive away birds from time to time.
When harvest time, the base will hire the surrounding farmers to collect silkworm calluses and silkworm eggs. The aunt said that she went uphill in Qingming Dynasty and Grain in Beard went downhill. She worked at the base for two months. She could earn 15000 yuan, which was better than working outside. These breeding bases, in addition to bringing local silkworm raising technology, but also provide villagers with the opportunity to work, leading the local to get rid of poverty and become rich has played a great role in promoting.
Tussah larvae and pupae are also a kind of special insect food, which can be eaten directly or served as stuffing by frying, cooking, frying, sneaking and other cooking means, and there is a habit of eating tussah larvae in the northern region. According to the Compendium of Materia Medica: “male silkworm moths, strong yang, antiejaculation, urine and blood, warm water dirty, treatment of storm, gold sores, soup fire sores, scar control.” Tussah silkworm is not only rich in protein, but also has a lot of medicinal value. When the locals invite to dinner, they often come up with this dish and look at the fried golden tussah silkworm, but tourists are afraid to move chopsticks.
